Am I Good Enough?

It’s International Women’s Day on 8th March.

So I want to talk about the idea that very often as women, we don’t feel good enough. We don’t feel deserving or we think that we’re not measuring up to other people.

All this doubt creeps in and it becomes a sort of habitual way of being. We just move on from one thing to the next without any moment of pause to reflect and ask if these negative thoughts actually true?

We get ourselves spinning downward in the mindset of “I am not good enough” which doesn’t help anything. It makes us feel very powerless and we don’t trust who we are.

So I want you to do a little exercise:

I want you to think back over your life to three significant events when you actually got over something dramatic; something you know was difficult; something really highly pressurised.

This could be within your work, it could be within your relationships, it could be within a friendship circle.

I want you to really think about how you felt before, for example:

  • I was in a bad place,
  • I was feeling really low,
  • I was feeling very unworthy.

Recall all those negative emotions.

Now I want you to start to remember – how did you get out of it…?

  • What did you do?
  • How did you change your thought processes?
  • How did you act differently?
  • Did you speak to other people?
  • Did you behave in a different way?

Really examine what it is that you did to overcome that situation.

Now realise – if you did it those previous times, then you can do it again!
You have that resilience within you.

You have that capacity within you, so whenever you’re feeling stuck again, when you feel that you need a moment to empower yourself, then remember that you’re a strong, amazing woman!

Remember, you have that evidence that you’ve done it before so you can do it again and again and again…
