What springs to mind when you think of autumn’s arrival?

Is it the changing colours of the trees? The crisp chill in the air as you reach for another layer of clothing? Whilst these occurrences certainly get you in the mood for seasons new, nothing shouts “IT’S NOVEMBER”, “CHRISTMAS IS AROUND THE CORNER” quite like a spiced drink.

Now, spiced lattes and mulled wines are nothing new. Both have their time and their place and go nicely hand in hand with these colder months. It’s certainly nice to wrap your chilly mitts around a steaming beverage as you watch some fireworks or browse the Christmas markets. However, neither of these are going the have you feeling your best day to day.

But fear not! For we have whizzed up the ultimate seasonal smoothie which is just perfect for this time of year. Full of sweet potato goodness in the form of vitamins, fibre and potassium, you will still be getting your milky fix from the creamy almond milk. And of course, no autumnal recipe would be complete without a little helping of cinnamon.

We’ve included the recipe below so you can whip it up and spread the good, albeit slightly chilly, November vibes:

Spiced Autumn Smoothie Recipe
(recipe makes 2 smoothies)

1 x sweet potato (raw & peeled)
6 x dried apricots
1 cup almond milk
1/2 cup water
1 tsp cinnamon
3 x cloves

The method could not be simpler. Add all your ingredients to a blender and blitz away!

There you have it, a fool proof, seasonal drink which will provide a lovely boost, whether you’re taking on the Christmas shopping, or simply curling up in front of the fire.
